Fed: Vale says Labor scare campaign cruel
CANBERRA, Feb 4 AAP - The federal government today accused Labor of mounting a cruelattempt to score political points over the plight of a woman whose husband died in Afghanistan.
Veterans Affairs Minister Danna Vale said the government remained committed to improvingcompensation arrangements for dependants of defence force personnel who died on activeservice, and new legislation was being prepared.
She said it was irresponsible and cruel for Labor to raise false expectations by inferringthat the new legislation would provide windfall benefits.
